Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
How do I start tracking my pregnancy?
When you first open Nooko, choose “I'm expecting” and enter either the first day of your last menstrual period or the due date provided by a dating scan. Nooko uses the selected source for your pregnancy week, due date, countdown, and week-specific content.
Do I need to register with an email or password?
No. Nooko creates an anonymous app account. The session is stored on your device, and supported data can sync privately with approved family members. Because there is no email login, uninstalling or losing the device may make the anonymous account inaccessible even though synced data remains until it is deleted.
What can I use in Nooko?
Nooko includes week-by-week pregnancy guidance, a timeline, journal, bump-photo diary, checklists, reminders, partner sharing and tips, weight tracking, prenatal appointments, a kick counter, a contraction timer, and an iOS Home Screen widget. Availability and editing access can depend on pregnancy stage, family permissions, notification permission, and Nooko+ status.
Partner Sharing
How do I invite my partner?
Open Settings → Share together, create an invite, and share its link or code. Your partner can use the invite during onboarding or from the Partner screen.
Why can't my partner see the pregnancy data?
Joining with an invite first creates a pending membership. The family administrator must approve it before pregnancy content becomes available. After approval, the member's role and permissions control what they can view or edit. Both devices need an internet connection for cloud sync.
Does a partner invite require Nooko+?
No. Creating and accepting a partner invite does not require a subscription. A family member may receive shared Nooko+ access while the family's entitlement is active.
Nooko+ and Purchases
What are the subscription options?
- Monthly: $4.99/month in the US, auto-renewable.
- Trimester: $9.99 every three months in the US, auto-renewable.
- Pregnancy Pass: $19.99/year in the US, auto-renewable.
Prices vary by country or region. The localized price and renewal period shown by Apple in Nooko before purchase are authoritative.
What does Nooko+ include?
The current purchase screen lists custom checklists and to-do items, full kick-counter history, contraction-session history, weight tracking and gain progress, and prenatal care with appointment management. The core ability to count movements, time contractions, and view safety guidance remains available without Nooko+.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open a Nooko+ purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases. This asks Apple and RevenueCat to check for an active or restorable Nooko subscription.
What happens when a subscription ends?
Ending a subscription does not itself delete your Nooko data. Paid features become unavailable unless Nooko+ is renewed. A locally recognized expired Pregnancy Pass may place supported content in read-only Memory Vault mode.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Nooko, or use Apple's subscription page. Deleting a Nooko account does not cancel the subscription or stop Apple billing.
Privacy and Data
How does Nooko protect pregnancy content?
Nooko uses encrypted network connections, private cloud storage, database row-level access controls, an approval gate for family members, and role-based permissions. We do not show third-party ads or sell personal information. Limited diagnostics and Product analytics are described in the Privacy Policy.
How do I control Product analytics?
Product analytics is on by default in analytics-configured production builds after Nooko checks local Settings records. It sends only coarse pregnancy-feature and action counts to the EU PostHog endpoint; it excludes pregnancy content, account identifiers, and device identifiers. Open Settings → Your Data → Product analytics to turn it off anytime. Turning it off stops future capture, and core features work either way. See the Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
How do I export my data?
Open Settings → Export my data to create and share a JSON snapshot of the structured records you are currently authorized to read. Depending on your permissions and available data, it can include pregnancy and prenatal records, journal and checklist records, kick-counting, contraction and weight records, reminders and notification settings, and photo or attachment metadata. It does not embed the binary bump-photo or journal-attachment files, so keep separate copies of those files. For help or a broader access request, email contact@nookoapp.com.
How do I delete my Nooko account and data?
Open Settings → Delete Account & Data. The first warning links to Apple Subscriptions because deleting Nooko data does not cancel Apple billing. If you own the family, continuing deletes the shared family space and its content, including contributions from approved members. Applicable online photo and attachment files are removed before uploader-prefixed attachment records and the account itself. Because that server sequence is not atomic, a retryable failure may leave some online media already removed. Nooko keeps your local data and session until the server confirms deletion, so you can retry; after confirmation, it clears local data and signs out. If deletion remains pending or you cannot access the app, email contact@nookoapp.com.
Troubleshooting
The app is slow, offline, or closing unexpectedly.
Check your internet connection, close and reopen Nooko, and install the latest App Store version. Core local data remains available where supported, while sync, purchases, feedback, and partner updates require service connectivity. If the issue continues, email us with your Nooko version, build number, iOS version, device model, what you were doing, and any error message. Do not email sensitive journal text or photos unless support specifically needs them.
Family data is not syncing.
Confirm that both devices are online, the invited member is approved, and the relevant family permission is enabled. Reopen Nooko on both devices to trigger a foreground refresh. If the issue persists, contact support.
Compatibility
- Requires iOS 15.1 or later.
- Supports iPhone and iPad in portrait orientation.
- The Home Screen widget requires iOS 17 or later.
